North Carolina

North Carolina has one federally recognized tribe and seven state recognized tribes. According to 2020 U.S. Census data, Indigenous peoples represent 3.2% of the total population of North Carolina. In order to achieve parity in political representation, we need to elect 178 Native leaders to office at all levels across the state.

This is a work in progress, as Native peoples are often left out of demographic data and research. If you are a Native elected or appointed official, please fill out this form so that we can make sure you are included in our data.
