Louisiana has four federally recognized tribes and 11 state recognized tribes. According to 2020 U.S. Census data, Indigenous peoples represent 2.3% of the total population of Louisiana. In order to achieve parity in political representation, we need to elect 116 Native leaders to office at all levels across the state.
